North Star and Book Roadmap Sessions
Through up to two in-depth and collaborative conversations with your Book Coach, we’ll help you refine your book idea and transform it into a clear, professional book positioning by defining your objectives and identifying your audience. This document will serve as your “North Star” throughout the writing process.
Additionally, you’ll have a session with your Book Coach to develop your book’s Table of Contents. Over the course of up to four calls, we’ll create a detailed, chapter-by-chapter outline—what we call a Book Roadmap—that sets the foundation for your book.
Book Coaching and Review Sessions
You’ll have two coaching sessions with your Book Coach throughout the manuscript writing process. During these sessions, your Book Coach will review selected chapters, offering feedback, advice, suggestions for improvement, and accountability as you write. Once you’ve completed the first draft of your manuscript, your Book Coach will review the entire document and provide you with an evaluation memo. You’ll then have a call to discuss their feedback, talk through editing and revisions, and address any questions you have to ensure you’re ready for the editing stage.
Author Community Platform
Once you begin writing your manuscript, you’ll be invited to join our Guided Author Community platform, Circle. Here, you can connect with other Authors, Book Coaches, and Author Success Managers. You’ll have the chance to participate in weekly accountability prompts and ask any questions you have to our team of experts.
Full Digital Course Access
You’ll start by working through the best book writing course available: the American Guided Author Digital Course. This course guides you through every step of starting your book, from positioning and structure to creating the outline and more. You’ll begin your book here, even before working with a Book Coach.

(1) Book Strategy Consultation
Before you begin writing, the first step is to determine if you truly have a book inside you and if our process is the right fit for your needs.
You’ll have a conversation with an Author Strategist who will help you clarify:

The audience you’re targeting (and how your book serves them)
The goals you want to achieve with your book (e.g., generating revenue, building your brand)
This is not a sales call. We want to help you decide if our method is the right choice for you. If it’s not a good match, we’ll refer you to another service that may better suit your needs.
(2) Assemble your Publishing Team
Your journey begins with meeting your Author Success Manager, who will act as your primary point of contact and help assemble your creative team.
Your Author Success Manager ensures that your book meets the highest standards and is published on time. During the introduction call, they’ll gather essential details about your book idea and match you with the best Book Coach for your project.
(3) Review Digital Course
Start with Our Digital Writing Course
You’ll begin with our comprehensive digital writing course, led by American Publishers’ expert editorial team. This step-by-step program will guide you through every phase of writing your book.

(4) Book Coaching Sessions
In your first call with your Book Coach, you’ll refine and finalize your book’s “North Star.” This in-depth session builds on the strategy consult call and accomplishes the following:
Define exactly what your book is about
Pinpoint your audience and how your book will serve them
Clarify how your book will benefit you and your goals
After finalizing your book’s North Star, you’ll work with your Book Coach to finalize your Table of Contents and create a Book “Roadmap” — a step-by-step guide to shape your writing and sharpen your thinking.
(5) Write
After your coaching sessions, you’ll be fully prepared to start writing.
You’ll have everything you need to stay on track, including access to our Guided Author Community, where our team will be there to support you through any obstacles.
You’ll also have two writing check-in calls with your Book Coach to ensure you’re progressing well. These one-on-one calls will focus on your chapters, feedback, and any necessary refinements.
(6) Review Your Manuscript
Once you complete your first draft, you’ll have a final call with your Book Coach to review their feedback on your manuscript.You’ll discuss edits, ask questions, and make sure you’re ready for revisions before submitting the manuscript for publishing
(7) The Full American Publishers Design, Publishing & Distribution Services
This includes a beautifully designed cover, interior layout, and full coordination of publishing details (ISBN, author bio, description, etc.). We’ll provide hardcover, paperback, and eBook formats for your book.
(8) Launch and Promotion
As your release date approaches, we’ll get your book ready for launch by designing social media graphics and drafting email templates for you to promote the book.
Upon launch, we’ll run an Amazon pricing campaign to boost initial sales and manage a review campaign to gather early feedback.
